6-speed controlled manual gearbox
In conjunction with the 110 bhp 1.6 l HDi particulate filter engine available on the Peugeot 308, this six-speed controlled manual gearbox eliminates the need for the clutch pedal. Reactive, it will particularly appeal to drivers who like to take control of the gear changes, who can do so using either the gear lever or the paddles behind the steering wheel. Intelligent, it fulfils the requirements of drivers who favour stress-free journeys by taking control of the gears itself, the driver may, of course, take over control at any point.
Steering
The electrohydraulic power-assisted steering provides the driver of the Peugeot 308 with maximum driving precision; this is mainly ensured by the Pseudo McPherson front axles and the rear axles with a torsion beam.
