Developed by the PSA Group, BlueHDi technology combines the additive particle filter (FAP) with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction).
BlueHDi technology is the most efficient on the market in reducing polluting emissions. With this range, PEUGEOT maintains its lead in reducing pollution from diesel engines.
These 1.6L BlueHDi and 2.0L BlueHDi engines are fitted to the PEUGEOT 208, 2008, 308, 3008, 508, 5008, Partner Tepee, Traveller, Partner, New Expert and Boxer.

Controlled emissions

BlueHDi technology is an advance in diesel engine technology, controlling the combustion and post-treatment of exhaust gases.
The principle is to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) into the air by up to 90%.
The SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) transforms the NOx gases into water vapour and nitrogen by catalytic action.. BlueHDi is PEUGEOT's solution for preserving air quality by treating NOx, optimising CO2 emissions and consumption, while eliminating 99.9% of fine particles by quantity.

Recognised efficacy

BlueHDi is the only technology that provides rapid priming after starting. In fact, the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is positioned upstream of the additive particle filter (FAP).
This combination (SCR + additive FAP) is particularly effective in treating exhaust gases.
Always at the forefront, PEUGEOT first fitted a FAP to one of its cars in 2000, a world first, and eleven years before the standard came into force.
