Peugeot continues to maintain its lead in offering ever-cleaner diesel engines with BlueHDi, the most efficient system on the market when it comes to reducing pollutant emissions.
To build on its position at the forefront of environmental efficiency, Peugeot has once again broken new ground in choosing to roll out BlueHDi technology across its entire diesel range in late 2013. The Peugeot 508 and the new Peugeot 308 will be the first to benefit from the new BlueHDi power plants.

Controlled emissions

BlueHDi offers a real leap forward for diesel engines by adjusting the combustion and post-treatment of exhaust gases: a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system converts NOx into steam and nitrogen, reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 90%.
BlueHDi is Peugeot's flagship solution for improved air quality, enabling NOx treatment, reduced CO2 emissions and improved consumption while eliminating 99.9% of fine particles.

Proven efficiency

BlueHDi is the only technology that ensures rapid firing after turning on the ignition, through Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) upstream from the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) in conjunction with an additive system. The combination of SCR and DPF with additive technology is particularly effective in treating exhaust gases.
BlueHDi is highly efficient – it is already comfortably compatible with the Euro 6 standard (which will apply to all new vehicles as of September 2014 and all vehicles as of September 2015).
