Free Practice and Qualifying 1 - 24H Nürburgring - 208 GTi Racing Experience

The race is on! For the 8 drivers of the 208 GTi Racing Experience, the time has come to face the big challenge of the hardest GT Endurance Race in the world: the 24H Nürburgring! After making their way through 2 tough VLN races, our drivers earned their qualification for the 24H race, behind the wheel of the 208 GTi Peugeot Sport, a 300bhp and 990kg race car, ready to fight for the win in the SP2T Category. Watch the beginning of the 24H weekend with this first episode, summarising the Free Practice and First Qualifying Session. Today Sunday the start of the 24H race will be given at 5:00pm (GMT +1). As the Nurburgring 24 hours are approaching fast, pressure rises for the 8 pilots of the 208 GTi Racing Experience.To make it worst, weather conditions were again extreme for this VLN3 race but they have brightly accomplished their mission and will take part to the Nurburgring 24 hours on May 19-20th driving the 208 GTi Peugeot Sport. // Les 24H du Nürburgring approchant à grands pas, la pression monte pour les pilotes de la 208 GTi Racing Experience . Pour ne rien arranger, la météo a de nouveau compliqué ce début de championnat VLN. Les pilotes ont pourtant brillamment accompli leur mission et participeront donc les 19 et 20 mai 2013 aux 24 Heures du Nürburgring, au volant de la 208 GTi Peugeot Sport.

208 GTi Racing Experience | VLN2 : First roars on the "ring"

After several delays and cancellations due to severe weather conditions earlier this year, the 2013 VLN season could finally begin on April 13th on the Nürburgring with the VLN2 race. This was the first opportunity for the eight winners of the 208 GTi Racing Experience project to meet again from the International Final of La Ferte Gaucher, and start working together to build a tight team to conquer the Nürburgring 24H 2013. // Après plusieurs reports et annulations consécutifs aux conditions météo rigoureuses de ce début d'année, la saison VLN 2013 a enfin pu débuter le 13 avril sur le circuit du Nürburgring avec la course VLN 2. C'était la première occasion pour les 8 gagnants du projet 208 GTi Racing Experience de se retrouver depuis la Finale internationale de La Ferté Gaucher, et de commencer à travailler ensemble pour constituer une équipe soudée à l'assaut des 24 Heures du Nürburgring 2013.

Peugeot 208 T16 | The programme continues!

As the flagship of Peugeot Sport's customer competition activities, the208 T16 is continuing to be put through its paces as part of its intensive development programme. It has already notched up some 20 days of testing on gravel and this work has enabled its chief technical characteristics to be finalised. Peugeot Sport's engineers started by focusing on the reliability of its chassis, engine, electronics and suspension before turning their attention to set-up work. Although the gravel part of the programme hasn't been entirely completed, the 208 T16 is about to embark on the asphalt phase of its development. The objective remains to clock up 10,000 kilometres in testing before deliveries of the car to customers begin at the end of the year. // Fleuron de la compétition clients de Peugeot Sport, la 208 T16 n'en finit pas d'être éprouvée ! Quatre séances d'essais sur la terre, soit environ 20 journées d'essais, ont d'ores et déjà permis de valider les principales options techniques. Tout a été passé en revue : le châssis, le moteur, l'électronique, les suspensions. D'abord pour la fiabilité puis pour travailler sur les réglages. Bien que la campagne sur terre ne soit pas totalement achevée, la 208 T16 va entamer dans les semaines à venir son développement sur asphalte. Les 10 000 kilomètres d'essais restent l'objectif avant les premières livraisons en fin d'année.

The HYbrid Air drive train consists of a high pressure tank in the central tunnel, a low pressure tank at the rear suspension and a motor/pump assembly installed on the transmission. The HYbrid Air drive train leaves the occupant space and modularity of the vehicle unchanged and is made visible to the driver by three operating modes: Air (ZEV), Petrol and Combined. // La chaîne de traction HYbrid Air est composée, pour la partie pneumatique, d'un réservoir haute pression dans le tunnel central, d'un réservoir basse pression au niveau du train arrière et d'un ensemble moteur/pompe installé sur la transmission. Elle préserve l'habitabilité et la modularité du véhicule et se traduit, pour le conducteur, par trois modes d'exploitation : Air (ZEV), Essence et Combiné.
