Front end panel
The refined front end panel of the Peugeot 407 is designed around a highly unique air inlet and elegantly stretched headlights.
Panoramic windscreen
The vista provided by the panoramic windscreen provides the interior with a real feeling of light and space, welcoming its occupants.
Dynamic lines
Peugeot's stylists were able to highlight the vehicle's pure, sharp lines, using shadow as much as light to create a symphony in movement. Balance is created by the long bonnet and compact rear, which project the passenger compartment forwards. The side of the Peugeot 407, with clean, taut lines, has a distinct ridge along the length of the car, making it robust.
COMFORT
On board the 407, comfort and user friendliness perfectly combine. A wide range of interior equipment is brought together to increase your driving pleasure and relax your passengers to the full. As with many functions dedicated to comfort, they fulfil both aspects.
Structured around a centre console and a dashboard with a driver and passenger shelves, the interior echoes the dynamic exterior, with the materials used exuding an air of comfort.
Soft seat
The seats, plush and comfortable, are designed to be ergonomic and to aid posture, thanks to their long seat bases which correctly support the upper legs, and their wide range of settings.
Acoustics
The laminated side windows provide yet more insulation from the exterior and an amazing sensation of calm and comfort on board.
Dual-zone air conditioning
The 407 offers a dual-zone air conditioning system with a temperature setpoint and separate right and left air distribution. Connected to a dual-directional solar radiation sensor, this mitigates the effects of moving from a very bright area into a tunnel, for example.
Telematics RT4
RT4 telematics equipment is offered on the 407. It groups together the radio, GSM phone, GPS navigation and emergency call functions.
PERFORMANCE
Everything is a matter of personality. You have your own, and so does each of the petrol or HDi engines on the 407. By offering you a large range of manual or automatic gearboxes, the 407 can be adapted to suit all your requirements. One thing is sure: the pleasure is in the meeting of minds.
Range of engines
A wide range of engines is offered: this range is made up of 4 petrol engines (between 125 bhp and 211 bhp) and 4 HDi engines (between 110 bhp and 204 bhp) and therefore can fulfil all possible requirements.
Suspension
Connected to a structure which benefits from increased torsional rigidity, the 407's multi-link suspension is an efficient high-tech assembly which guarantees a high level of active safety and driving pleasure.
18 inch wheels
The 407 can, as an option or as standard, depending on the engine, be fitted with 18 inch wheels with 15 spokes which give the vehicle's silhouette presence and a sense of dynamism.
SAFETY
A high-tech shield, the 407 guarantees the safety of the occupants with intelligent airbags and the latest generation of ESP. To give you the greatest possible pleasure from each mile driven, the 407 has innovative, high-performance steering and suspension assembly made largely from aluminium.
ESP, ABS
The braking system includes the anti-lock braking system (ABS), the Electronic Braking Distribution (EBD) and the emergency brake assist (EBA). These three systems are complimented by the ESP (electronic stability program) which provides anti-slip regulation (ASR).
Airbags
The 407 offers up to 9 airbags: 2 frontal, 2 front side and 2 rear, 2 curtain and 1 driver's knee airbag.
Isofix seats
Child seats can be fitted in the four passenger seats and the Isofix seat can be fitted in the rear side seats.
ENVIRONMENT
HDi engines have the advantage of a common rail direct injection system which ensures very fine atomisation of the fuel directly into the combustion chamber which enables the mixture to be homogenised while reducing consumption and emissions at source.
Particulate filter
All HDi engines in the 407 range may be equipped with a particulate filter for better environmental protection.
1.6l HDi particles filter
The 407 is available with a 1.6 HDi engine with particulate filter which gives a combined cycle consumption of 5.3 l per 100 km, with an emissions level of only 140 g.
Recycling
Out of concern for the environment, the design and choice of materials used in the manufacture of the 407 are in line with the European directives on recycling.
