The Peugeot 4007, Peugeot's first Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), delves into a new realm of automotive pleasure and has a good position in the compact all-terrain vehicle market.
DESIGN
The sleek, feline style of the Peugeot 4007 brands it a Peugeot.
The front end panel, designed by the Peugeot Style Centre, underlines the sturdy, sporty nature of the car. The sporty design perfectly embodies elegance and refinement, characteristics of the contemporary style of the Peugeot range. In keeping with the current style of Peugeot vehicles, the 4007 has a wide, open radiator grille.
Front fog lamps
The dynamic appearance is reinforced by the front bumper assembly with built in fog lights and air intakes, enhanced by chrome surround. The sporty design perfectly embodies elegance and refinement, hallmarks of Peugeot style.
Rear lights
The cut of the tailgate divides the rear lights into two sections and extends towards the sill panel, giving two opening sections at the rear of the vehicle, due to a flip-up opening on the lower section and a window opening on the upper section. The rear bumper is designed to preserve the hardy yet elegant appearance of the Peugeot 4007.
18“ aluminium wheels
The curvaceous wings symbolise power. Extensive wheel arches, large alloy wheels (18”) and an elevated ground clearance express the Peugeot 4007's dynamic potential regardless of the terrain involved.Foot panels
At the Premium Pack level (or Feline in France), inner sills with specific chrome inserts reinforce the vehicle's exceptional sporty character.
COMFORT
The acoustics were of prime concern, particularly with regards to engine soundproofing. The result is a high level function for this range of vehicle and this type of engine. As regards heating, the Peugeot 4007 has an automatic heating and air conditioning system fitted with a pollen and dust filter and maintains an interior temperature of between 18 and 32°C. With comfort and quality in mind, the latest telematics and audio equipment is available. The Peugeot 4007's interior has been cleverly designed and can be adjusted at will to make it multipurpose and versatile.
Front leather seats
The internal harmony, in black, bears the Peugeot mark, particularly on the seats and door panels.
Leather rear bench seat
Passengers who sit on the foldaway bench seat also have headrests and seat belts with inertia reels.
Rear DVD player
A DVD player for rear passengers, built into the interior lights with a wide 9” foldaway screen can be added to the Peugeot 4007. This can play DVDs or can be connected to a games console; the player comes with 2 wireless headsets and a remote control.
Touch screen navigation system
A navigation system with a 7” colour touch-screen is available on the Peugeot 4007. The 30 Gb hard disk contains maps of Europe (NAVTEQ), and has 10 Gb free space to store approximately 2000 songs, compressed in ATRAC3 plus format (128k).
Controlled by a 400 MHz and 720 MIPS Renesas Navicore processor, the Navigation system also has a CD/DVD player, a 3 band radio (FM/LW/MW) and a 4 x 35 W amplifier.
PERFORMANCE
Combining the best of the two automotive types, the Peugeot 4007 has a novel, electronically controlled integrated transmission, a powerful, latest generation 2.2 HDi particle filter diesel engine, a high degree of roadholding similar to that of Peugeot hatches and a dynamic and very well equipped interior layout.
2.2l HDi particle filter
The engine and gearbox assembly has flare and a high level dynamic performance close to that of the results obtained by the hatches in the upper middle section of the Peugeot brand:
• From 0 to 100 km/h: 9.9 seconds
• From 0 to 1 000 m: 31.8 seconds
• Acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h in 5th: 9.3 seconds
6 gear manual gearbox
To ensure optimum driving pleasure and to make maximum use of the 380 Nm torque available from the lowest speeds (2 000 rpm), a six gear manual gearbox is connected to the latest generation 2.2 l diesel HDi particle filter engine.
SAFETY
In addition to the integrated transmission and tough structure of the Peugeot 4007, it is equipped with the latest technology to protect passengers in the event of an impact or danger on the road: including ASC (Active Stability Control) which increases the vehicle's stability, ABS, six airbags (two front, two side and two curtain) and Isofix anchoring points in three places on row 2.
4WD mode
This is the normal and current vehicle operating mode, the distribution of the torque between the front and rear axles is controlled by the computer. It ensures optimum roadholding regardless of the road conditions.
Reversing camera screen
Located under the licence plate trim, the reversing camera sends a colour picture to the screen on the navigation system. Due to visual markers superimposed on the picture, the end of the rear bumper can be located as well as the general direction of the car, allowing the driver to manoeuvre in complete safety.
Door mirrors
The large door mirrors give the driver optimal rear vision.
Cruise control
The vehicle is equipped with cruise control which enables the driver to maintain a more regular speed.
ENVIRONMENT
The engine in the Peugeot 4007 should be the paradigm of an environmentally friendly engine. The 2.2l HDi engine reduces emissions by approximately 30 % in comparison with the previous generation. It is, of course, associated with the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group's particle filter technology, the latest generation without maintenance and with high octane filter.
HDi particle filter
The latest generation 2.2 l diesel HDi particle filter engine in the Peugeot 4007, with a power of 115 kW (156 bhp) is designed to ensure a high degree of environmental protection (191 g/km of CO2).
