With the 508 RXH, customers have the opportunity of using electronic recognition (Hands-free access and start-up) rather than the traditional key. So, with the identifier still in your pocket (or handbag) you can access your vehicle, start it and stop it simply by using the Start/Stop button. Panoramic glass roof
The 508 RXH has a large panoramic glass roof (1.62m2). Thus passengers, both front and rear, benefit fully from exterior light and enjoy an exceptional feeling of space and well-being.Onboard sound
The Arkamys© software installed in the WIP Nav Plus delivers a more natural sound environment positioned at windscreen level, with a harmoniously placed sound system opposite the passengers. The 508 RXH also offers a JBL HI-fi kit* with 10 loud-speakers including a central one located in the middle of the dashboard, dramatically improving the distribution of sound inside the passenger compartment.

DRIVEABILITY
Everything has been designed to give the driver maximum satisfaction, offering a unique driving experience rich in emotion.Heads up display
This equipment projects essential driving information in colour onto a retractable panel located within the driver's field of vision: speed, speed limiter warnings, navigation, etc. The driver therefore has access to the information without taking his eyes of the road. The blue lettering of the speed indicates electric mode is in use.Multi-function steering wheel
The steering wheel with integrated controls is designed to be functional and technological. Drivers have access to the following functions: speed regulator/limiter, volume, parametering menu, source.Electric parking brake
The electric parking brake (EPB) automatically engages when the engine is switched off, including when it stalls, and disengages when the accelerator is pressed. It can always be operated manually with the control handle. The Hill Assist function combined with the EPB enables temporary vehicle hold (2 seconds) when on a slope (>3%) and in the opposite direction to the gear selected.Instrument panels
The left-hand side of the console is a power indicator displaying recharge phases and the optimal operating window (ECO). The right-hand side shows the classic speedometer. Changing to four-wheel drive mode allows in a multitude of driving conditions (low grip, difficult terrain, deep snow, mud, sand, etc.) to gain increased torque at low speed by ensuring all four wheels constantly remain in motion: the diesel engine (traction) and electric engine (propulsion) operate simultaneously and continuously.Parking space measurement system
The function is combined with forward parking assistance. It measures the available space and gives information on:- the possibility of parking in a vacant space
- the degree of difficulty of the manoeuvre to be performed.

The passenger compartment of the Peugeot 508 RXH boasts a number of storage spaces: 2 cup holders in the front, and 2 at the back, bottle holders in each door panel, arm rest storage, detachable ashtray and closed storage on the driver's side.Motorised tailgate

HYbrid4 technology is based on the combined use of the best technologies developed by Peugeot’s engineers: diesel engine, electric motor, second-generation Stop & Start and an electronically-controlled sequential manual gearbox.
Peugeot’s choice of the diesel hybrid demonstrates that it is possible to combine uncompromising environmental demands with driving sensations until now not available in a hybrid vehicle.
Simplicity of use
A selection knob on the centre console enables the driver to choose between four different operating modes :
- "Auto" mode: the electronics automatically control the entire system,
- "ZEV" mode provides access to an extensive all-electric mode,
- "4WD" mode for an improved motricity,
- "Sport" mode for a more dynamic drive.
Functionning
The name HYbrid4 designates the hybridization of a diesel engine (2.0 litre HDi FAP 120 kW / 163 bhp) with an electric motor offering a maximum power output of 27 kW (37 bhp).Driving pleasure

SAFETY

In the event of a collision, 6 airbags provide passengers with a high degree of protection: 2 front airbags, 2 side airbags at the front and 2 curtain airbags front and back.PEUGEOT CONNECT SOS
When every minute is important, you can count on PEUGEOT CONNECT SOS* to act quickly.
Automatic emergency call: if the air bags or seat belt pretensioners are triggered, the vehicle makes an emergency call automatically without any action by the driver. PEUGEOT CONNECT SOS* then locates the vehicle, establishes telephone communication with its occupants and dispatches the appropriate emergency services. The communication can take place in the language of origin of the owner of the vehicle.
Manual emergency call: whether a motorist is the victim or the witness of a critical situation (illness, attack), he or she can rely on PEUGEOT CONNECT SOS*. To do this, he simply has to press (for 3 seconds) the SOS button located on the fascia panel.
PEUGEOT CONNECT SOS* is currently available in 10 European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria) and will become available in Great Britain, Poland and Denmark in 2011.
* The PEUGEOT CONNECT SOS service is available free of charge on the 508 RXH subject to acceptance when ordering the vehicle and in accordance with the general conditions of use of the service available at dealerships.
Suspension
Peugeot has always set the standard in terms of road holding and, consequently, driving enjoyment. With a ground clearance of 184mm, 508 RXH is equipped :-with the McPherson-type front axle which offers a high level synthesis of road holding and ride comfort.
-with a multi-arm rear suspension, designed to ensure excellent efficiency and maximum comfort.
ESP
The 508 RXH is fitted with the latest-generation ESP, which includes DSC (dynamic stability control), EBA (emergency brake assist) and EBD (electronic brake force distribution). It also includes Hill Assist as well as intelligent traction control improving the vehicle's ability to move off and be driven on slippery road surfaces by authorising more or less wheel slip on each of the front wheels.Dual-function XENON headlamps*
The 508 RXH can be equipped with directional bi-xenon headlamps offering:
- dipped beam/main beam function
- directional function.

Adaptive main beam headlamps
The main beam assistance system switches the headlights onto main beam setting as soon as possible for the driver's visual comfort. This option is only available with Xenon headlights.Shatterproof and acoustic side windows
508 RXH may be fitted with shatterproof and acoustic side windows offering:
- protection against theft:
A single dipped window breaks in 1 second, whilst a laminated window resists for several seconds.
- improved acoustic comfort:
Acoustic windows filter out certain frequencies from outside the vehicle and significantly reduce the sound levels within the vehicle.
- UV protection: Up to 99% of UV rays are blocked out by laminated glass
Tests conducted by PSA and Saint-Gobain during July 2011 on serial windows under actual conditions without any modifications. The periods of time indicated are those observed during testing.
