- Peugeot Sport
208 GTi Peugeot Sport numbers 215 and 216 are in the hands of the 8 drivers resulting from the 208 GTi Racing Experience.
The team for 208 GTi Peugeot Sport number 215 will be made up of the youngest recruits:
Stephan EPP (Germany): he was invited at the last minute, as Dominik PEITZ did not qualify for the Nürburgring 24 hour race at the VLN 3. At 31 years, he had finished as the second German driver at the European selection at La Ferté Gaucher, and his experience of the Nürburgring circuit allows him to take part in the 24 hour race with having run in the VLN 2 and VLN 3.
Gonzalo MARTIN DE ANDRES (Spain): he won 4 one-marque cups in Spain between 2004 and 2011.
Bradley PHILPOT (United Kingdom): he was the winner of a one-marque race series in 2007 and is a racing instructor in the United Kingdom.
Mathieu SENTIS (France): a motoring journalist, he has two years experience in rallying.
The team for 208 GTi Peugeot Sport number 216 is made up of drivers with many wins:
Christiaan FRANKENHOUT (Holland): he has already had many victories in one-marque racing and was the GT4 champion in Holland in 2009. In particular he finished 3rd overall in the 2012 Nürburgring 24 hour race and 2nd overall in the 2012 Dubai 24 hour race.
Johnny NIEDERHAUSER (Switzerland): he has a great record of achievements in motor sport.
Vincent RADERMECKER (Belgium): he is the most experienced of the 8 winners with several Super Touring championship titles in Belgium. His professional motorsport activity led him to drive often at Nürburgring and he has become an expert on the circuit over the years.
Giacomo RICCI (Italy): he has won 3 national tiles in F3000, a 5th place in the GT Open international championship, and a 3rd place in the GP2 Asia championship.
The drivers from the 208 GTi Racing Experience have been brought together with 208 GTi Peugeot Sport number 208 to create a skilled team which has excellent knowledge of the Nürburgring 24 hour race:
Michael BOHRER (Germany): hopeful young German driver, he combines speed and intelligence. He has a fine career in front of him and shines by being likeable both on the track and away from the paddock.
Stephane CAILLET (France): he will be the leader of the team, he is an attacker and particularly good at development work. After having developed the RCZ HDi FAP, victorious in their category at Nürburgring in 2010 and 2011, he played an active part in setting up the 208 GTi Peugeot Sport.
Jurgen NETT (Germany): a native of Adenau, he knows the track by heart, having run over it for more than 25 years and winning 6 class victories in the 24 hour race. A Peugeot dealer at Mayen (close to the circuit), he is also the "gentleman" of the team.
Julien PIGUET (France): one of the best French specialists of front wheel drive in competition, he took part in the Nürburgring 24 hour race in 2012 in an RCZ.
