On 17th June in Stuttgart, the jury of the 17th "International Engine of the Year Awards", organised by the British magazine "Engine Technology International", selected the three-cylinder PureTech engine for the engine of the year prize in the 1-to-1.4-litres category.

With the PureTech engine, Peugeot offers petrol-engine vehicles with the lowest emissions in their category in a number of segments. Emissions start at 99 g/km of CO2 for the Peugeot 208, 102 g/km for the 2008, 95 g/km for the 308 and 115 g/km for the 3008.

The accelerated roll-out of three-cylinder PureTech and Diesel BlueHDi engines, along with the new 1.6L THP petrol engines and EAT6 gearboxes, is rapidly and significantly reducing CO2 emissions across the range. Peugeot now has 24 vehicles on the best CO2 emissions levels in their respective power categories (7 PureTech, 4 1.6L THP and 13 BlueHDi).

PureTech: A complete range of efficient Euro 6 petrol engines.

Launched with the Peugeot 208 in 2012, in 1.0 L 68 hp and 1.2 L 82 hp normally aspirated versions, the three-cylinder PureTech was extended in 2014 with 1.2 L 110 hp and 130 hp turbo-compressor versions with Stop & Start technology, starting with the Peugeot 308.

These new engines anticipated and comply with the 6.1 standard that will come into force in September 2015. Their use in the Peugeot range is continuing in 2015 with the 208, 308, 2008, 3008 and 5008.

The new 110 hp and 130 hp three-cylinder turbo PureTech engines that won the engine of the year award bring about a step change in consumption and are a real pleasure to drive with even response and torque up to 230 N.m available even at low engine speeds. The PureTech engine demonstrates exceptional spirit; the constant power up to 6500 rpm and low noise allow you to forget about the engine.

PureTech: Peugeot models, the most fuel-efficient in their categories in the world.

Thanks to its PureTech engines, Peugeot has 7 "best in class" petrol-engine vehicles in their power categories with CO2 emissions among the lowest on the market.
