Six months after its commercial launch in Spring 2009, the Peugeot 3008 continues its initial success.

Peugeot’s crossover, now available in the majority of European markets, has taken nearly 50,000 European customer orders, 15% above the volume objectives set by the Marque.

The first markets for the Peugeot 3008 were France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and Belgium.  It was launched in Great Britain at the beginning of November.

In terms of trim level, the 3008 has the benefit of a particularly wide mix: the choice of customers in Europe is 60% for higher level options (“Premium Pack” and, depending on the market, “Feline”).

The HDi-FAP engines - 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre - account for more than 75% of orders (of which, almost 80% are for the 1.6 litre version) whilst, in the petrol versions (25%), the 1.6 VTi and 1.6 THP are split 55/45.

The total production of 3008 has just surpassed 50,000 vehicles.

Built in Sochaux at a rate of 530 units per day, it is currently running at full capacity.  The high commercial demand for the model and the industrial launch of the new compact MPV, the 5008 - produced on the same lines, currently at 360 per day - lead to a third production shift being introduced in mid October, creating 800 jobs.

The total sales objective for the Peugeot 3008 in 2010 has been confirmed at 90,000 units.
Due to its multiple personality, its innovative concept and its technological content, it has attracted a varied customer base looking for a ‘differentiating’ product and the Peugeot 3008 has equally been recognised by the European press: it has been nominated for the title of “Car of the Year” and has won the Auto Europa 2010 in Italy.
