Following two days reserved for the press and the industry, the Bologna International Motor Show is open to the public from 5 to 14 December.
For its 33rd annual edition, the Bologna Show - the biggest automotive exhibition in Italy with around 1,200,000 visitors expected - receives, in a roofed area of 140,000 sq. m, 300 exhibitors coming from 71 countries, including more than 50 automotive makes accounting for 94% of the Italian market. Added to this are 90,000 sq. m of outdoor areas on which visitors are proposed test-drives and demonstrations of a motor show of a dynamic, sporty nature.
On a stand of more than 2200 sq. m, Peugeot Italy wants to show to the Italian public, via 34 vehicles and concept cars, the Make's ability to reconcile environmental efficiency with motoring emotion.
For example, on display are two concept cars that were already very prominent at the Paris Motor Show both for their styling and their radically different technology, and for their exceptionally low emission levels: "Prologue HYbrid4" – whose body style prefigures the Crossover by Peugeot which will appear in 2009 – and "RC HYbrid4". They appear alongside the original HYbrid3 Compressor and, more "realistic", the 308 Stop & Start and 308 HYbrid2.
The 107 – of which 60,000 units have already been sold in Italy – unveils its restyling in a world "première" in Bologna, while the 308 CC is exhibited for the first time in Italy.
Of the other volume production vehicles, the 207 is strongly represented - in the context of an Italian automotive market in which the B segment accounts for around 60% - in its dynamic versions (GTi, Le Mans Series), Eco LPG, but also in the CC and SW body styles. And of course the 308 (8 saloon, SW and CC units on show), the 1007, restyled 407, 4007, 607, 807, and 3 light commercial vehicles, including Bipper, "Van of the Year" 2009.
In the "sporty" sector, the 207 Rally, available from the next season for customer racing, has its world "première" in Bologna. Its big sister the 207 Super 2000, with which Peugeot Italy won the national and European rally championships, and the 907 HDi-DPFS, will illustrate for the Italian public the diversity of the Make's sports involvement.
