Airbags: front, side, curtain, knee
In addition to this structural performance to attenuate the consequences in the event of an impact, Peugeot proposes up to 9 airbags to restrain and protect the body:
- 2 front airbags: when tripped, they adapt their pressure and volume to the severity of the frontal impact.
- 2 front side airbags: they protect the thorax, the pelvis and the abdomen of the driver and front-seat passenger.
- 1 steering column airbag (or knee airbag): it protects the lower limbs by attenuating forces on the knees and tibias. This airbag, located on the dashboard casing under the steering column, prevents contact with certain parts (ignition key, steering column) in the event of a frontal impact.
- 2 curtain airbags: they protect the side of the head of the front and rear passengers. These airbags, located in the head lining above the side windows, are coupled with the side airbags (simultaneous tripping).
- 2 rear side airbags: they protect the thorax of the rear passengers in the event of a side impact.
