A century of models
1901 : Type 36
A new model for 1901, the type 36 christened a new Peugeot engine, a vertical single-cylinder. This engine was available with four different power outputs ranging from 5 to 8 hp. It also marked a step on the road to modernity: for the first time, a Peugeot was fitted with a bonnet and a steering wheel, attached to a tilted steering column. Two versions of the type 36 were available, a three-seat spider and a four-seat tonneau.
