Peugeot: “Capturing the imagination”

Starting with the Quasar unveiled in 1984, Peugeot's concept cars have made it possible to explore a multitude of innovative ideas.
The Lion brand's image has benefited greatly from its innovative demonstrators (Quark) and its teasers that have stood out in their time. This was manifested for example by the 20♥ (1998) which paved the way for coupé cabriolets. Equally successful were the “showcars” which, following the example of the 607 Féline, the 907 and the 908 RC, put forward Peugeot style and capture the imagination of many. “The desire to capture the imagination is the central theme of all our creations. it is demonstrated by the design of the vehicle, of course, but also by the choice of architecture. In this way, our concepts serve as a study of the different engine and transmission types and provisions”, notes Jean-Christophe Bolle Reddat, head of motorshow cars for the Peugeot Design Management. Since 2000, the brand has shared its fascination with concept cars through the Peugeot Design Contest, intended for young designers. The winner sees a full-scale representation of their project built and unveiled at an international motorshow.
