an ultra-sporty concept car
The 308 R Concept is a hot-hatch concept car with a sleek, thoroughbred design. The bodywork boasts a decidedly sporty livery that features a striking two-tone red and black finish with distinctive demarcation. Below the blazing bodywork lies a powerful 270 bhp, 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine delivering a record specific output of nearly 170 bhp per litre and CO2 emissions of only 145 g/km. This is a concept car with a fierce temperament that lets the driver draw on every ounce of Peugeot Sport expertise.
The Full LED headlamps—borrowed from the new 308—are anchored neatly into the lower front panel with the help of 3D "teeth". These powerful headlamps add to the car's assertive demeanour. Their immediate response ensures strong, instant lighting in keeping with the fast, feline feel of the 308 R Concept
Aggressive air intakes
The front end has an aggressive stance with three air intakes that stretch across the entire lower panel. The central intake comprises slim horizontal strips set within a blue-tinted Dark Chrome surround. Together, the three vents have ample capability to cool the 270 bhp engine.
A low posture with real appeal
The 308 R Concept sits 26 mm lower than the standard model and features side skirts with matt-black trim finish, creating a seamless flow between curvaceous wheel arches that house 19-inch bespoke alloys. Each hubcap sports the Peugeot Lion against a backdrop of blue-tinted Dark Chrome, with a dark-red R logo on one of the five spokes.
the 308 R Concept experience
The 308 R Concept has an unabashedly sporty feel and offers an unprecedented driving experience. The Peugeot i-Cockpit makes this an easy car to get used to. Features include a compact steering wheel that enhances the car's responsiveness; a head-up display that allows the driver to monitor the instrument panel while keeping eyes on the road; a high centre console and a large 9.7-inch touchscreen for a more intuitive driving experience. The 308 R Concept draws on the full range of Peugeot Sport expertise to explore new driving thrills.
